This fall, the Texas Hospital Association invites member hospitals to participate in town hall meetings to learn more about Texas hospitals’ policy priorities entering 2025 and the implications that the pivotal November 2024 election could carry for the state’s health care landscape.
THA Town Hall: Legislative Budget and Session Outlook
Oct. 15, 2024 | 10-11 a.m. | Virtual Attendance Only
Featuring Comptroller Glenn Hegar with an outlook on the overall legislative budget and the 2025 legislative session.
THA Town Hall: Federal Policy Priorities
Oct. 22, 2024 | 2-3 p.m. | Virtual Attendance Only
Featuring U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett and a review of the issues most impacting hospitals at the federal level.
Engagement from Texas hospital leaders will carry enhanced importance in the 2025 Texas Legislature following a 2023 session in which hospitals were forced to repel relentless legislative attacks at the Capitol. THA members will be needed en masse – both to defend an expected repeat of many of those same attacks, and to go on the offense. Among other aims, THA is preparing to pursue greater financial stability for hospitals and health coverage for more Texans, including expanded behavioral health care – while opposing any renewed attempts to depress hospital payments.
“We encourage you to attend at least one of these meetings so THA can better understand the priorities and unique challenges your hospitals and health systems face.”
