Benjamin Baggi
Medical City Fort Worth
Medical City Fort Worth has named Benjamin Baggi assistant CFO. Baggi joins the hospital from Tampa-based Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, where he served as the financial systems and reporting manager. At Florida Cancer Specialists, he helped implement a new financial reporting and recording system. In his new role, Baggi will also support Medical City Weatherford. Dallas-based Medical City Healthcare is an affiliate of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA.
Edward Banos
University Health
Edward Banos has been named president and CEO of San Antonio, Texas-based University Health after a unanimous vote from the Bexar County Hospital District Board of Managers. Banos will succeed George Hernández Jr., who shared plans to retire last year. Prior to his new role, Banos served as the health system’s executive vice president and COO. Banos also served as CEO of Duke Lifepoint Upper Peninsula Health System in Marquette, Mich., and CEO of Superior Health Partners, also in Marquette, Mich.
John Duran, MSN, RN
Del Sol Medical Center
Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso has appointed John Duran, MSN, RN, as its next chief nursing officer. Duran has served as the medical center’s assistant chief nursing officer since 2018. One year after joining, he helped lead the team of nurses who responded to victims from the August 2019 shooting at an El Paso Walmart, where 23 people were killed 23 and 22 people were injured.
George Finney
The University of Texas System
George Finney has been named chief information security officer for The University of Texas System. In this capacity he works with each U.T. System institution to continually improve their security posture and capabilities. Finney was the recipient of the Malcolm Baldridge Award for Cybersecurity Leadership in 2024, was recognized in 2023 as one of the top 100 CISOs in the world, and in 2022 as University Technology Leader of the Year. Finney is also the bestselling author of several cybersecurity books, including Project Zero Trust and the Book of the Year Award winning, Well Aware: Master the Nine Cybersecurity Habits to Protect Your Future. Finney has worked in cybersecurity for over 20 years helping startups, global telecommunications firms, and nonprofits improve their security posture.
Jerrica George
Methodist Hospital Northeast
Jerrica George has been named CEO of Live Oak, Texas-based Methodist Hospital Northeast, part of San Antonio-based Methodist Healthcare. In her prior role, George served as COO of Las Vegas-based Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, an 834-bed campus, part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare. She also served as COO of HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe.
Rachel Goldsmith
Methodist Children’s Hospital
San Antonio-based Methodist Healthcare has named Rachel Goldsmith CEO of Methodist Children’s Hospital. Prior to her new role, Goldsmith served as COO for both Methodist Hospital in San Antonio and Methodist Children’s, where she oversaw more than $40 million in capital projects to help expand capabilities at both facilities. Goldsmith also served as vice president of operations, business development and strategy at Methodist Hospital.
Skyler Reed
Medical City Women’s Hospital Dallas and Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas
Skyler Reed has been appointed CEO of Medical City Women’s Hospital Dallas and Medical City Children’s Hospital in Dallas, part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare’s Medical City Healthcare in Dallas. Prior to his new role, Reed served as COO of Medical City Dallas. He also served as COO and facility ethics and compliance officer of Medical City Arlington.
